MP has removed many English rhymes from its syllabus, saying that they r gonna teach something relevant to our country.
When i read this, recollected Dindigul Leoni before 3 years in a Patti Mandram. He sang, "rain rain go away, Little Johny wants to play". His remarks was - "Indha rhymes Englandula ezhudhunaanga, anga eppavum Mazhai peyyum adhanaala idha paadaraanga, namma oorula mazhai peyyardhe periya vishayam, inga poi pullaiga ippadi paadina, vara mazhayum varaama poidum la"

Sounds funny but How true? We are aping them eventhough it doesnt suit us. Instead why cant we imbibe cultural aspects from them which suits our country. Time to change....

  • funny yaar...there is no harm in learning your mother tongue...but dont need to ignore what is popular. We donno how to create a balance between the 2.
