Do they have the Responsibility?

Friday, April 07, 2006
Over the last couple of days i watched all the famous news channels of India, there was a striking similarity between them, all channels displayed a real player Window in which a girl came with some fashion attire cat walked towards me, undersood that it was a fashion show(when i watched the first time), suddenly a part of the screen was blurred and her robe slipped from her body exposing her top. This has occured because of some silly mistake. But our News channels who brag that they re on par with International Biggies like CNN and BBC retelecast the same video again and again, i cud see the video around 15 times in the short span of around 1 hour.(Idhukkaagave okkarndhu paathiya nu nenakkaatheenga). In the name of "Freedom to express" thoughts, what are these ppl doing, relaying the same video again and again like a porn movie? If they really wanted to convey that such things shud not happen in future why play the same crap repeatedly? Some may claim that theyve blurred the video, what is the use of blurring? hiding something increases the curiosity among teens and even some grown ups to look what is behind? I dont mean to say that they have to play the clip without blurs. They cud have avoided broadcasting this clip, a flash news or just words cud have been enough.Instead these ppl are trying to increase the viewership count of their respective channels by broadcasting the clip. Is this what they claim as social responsibilty? The same happens for rape cases etc. but eventhough rape itself is unfortunate, fortunately rapists do not record what they do otherwise these ppl will broadcast those videos with some light smudges, claiming that theyve hidden the awkward part of the video. My grandma used to say "Oru sinna punnu irundhaa adha appdiye vittudu thaana aaridum, adha vittu romba nondinaa, perissayidum" i cud not avoid comparing what has happened in former case with this saying. With all such mistakes what is the use of vetti arguments like "Who will replace sachin?" "Will this dog piss today?" etc. Vetti scene thaan.....

Another news i heard was that Govt. is gonna probe into this matter, do they think that she might have done it delibrately? In my opinion it will not be true. If the government decides to stop such accidents(or incident) in future it can penalise the Show designer and organiser financially instead of probing into such things. So that models and designers will take care while designing for shows.

  • I have been wondering how these ladies hold the dresses on their body, and if were an accident, I would love to see such fashion designers, who design a dress that cant be worn anywhere, being penalized.

  • No dress displayed in fashion shows can be worn in real life, thats is just to show their designing capability :-)

No matter what these news channels say i think most of the time they do things for publicity rather than public interest

  • Its all about catering to the *needs* of the customer. In the capitalistic world, the customer is king! If the audience is perverted so they shall be served.

This is what happens everyday, they blame us and we blame them. It never ends.
