US Return...

A couple of months back i received a forward listing all the funny things a foreign return guy/gal wud do while coming to India. It had some things like 1.Cribbing over the pollution and dust in Chennai 2.Drinking mineral water 3. Starting a conversation with "Anga ellam..." etc.Last week my frend SAT(ish) returned from USA for his vacation. I expected atleast 1 or 2 of the 21 items listed in that forward. i thought he wud call us Dude instead of Machi, he wud like to have Pizza instead of the chat items we usually have, but nothing happened. He was the same old guy i studied with a year ago except for his French beard. He has always been an inspiration for us and a role model on how to behave, still he is. But i have some friends who go there and pick up some fake accent and put some vethu scene, adhennavo therila pasanga/ponnunga velinadu ponaa aale maaridraanga ya , except for a few like the one i mentioned above....

The curse of Human Race.....

Day before yesterday i saw the movie "Schindler's List". Some scenes were touching, the movie itself is so emotional. When i was watching the movie, i felt that some scenes of torture, especially shooting people in the concentration camps by Amon like a video game were a bit exaggerated. I thought that something like that cud have never happened. But i had some doubt, so the next day i bought a documentary about Hitler and the rise and Fall of Nazis. All the videos shown in the documentary is claimed to be authentic. I couldnt find much difference in the scenes shown in this original documentary and Schindler's List. Before yesterday evening i had some respect for that organism as a gud leader and commander , but as soon as i watched these videos i realised that he was not an human being. I could compare him with the so called "Rakshasas" described in our mythology.Kadavulnu oruthar irundhaarna idha maadhiri jenmangal ellam appadi uruvaagarthunnu therilai pa. Many people wud have already talked about this and blogged about this, but i just wanted to say. I dunno whether i was over emotional when i watched the movie, but it touched me to the core....
SMS freaks
Sunday, October 09, 2005
This incident happened a couple of day before when i was in the saloon. A guy sat near me, he seemed to be a college student, 2 or 3 years younger to me. For about half an hour this guy continuosly kept messaging some one, am sure that atleast 10 SMS must have been sent. From the smile in his face once he receives the sms i concluded that it is from his gf :). He didnt stop messaging even when he was in the HOT SEAT ( not KBC but the seat in the barber shop ) he kept on messaging even when the barber was busy cutting his hair,it frustrated the barber. i wondered why is this guy sending so many sms, instead he cud have talked with the other person thru a call. I dunno what to say about this, is this an addiction to SMS or vethu scene.... therila pa....
Gajini....
Sunday, October 02, 2005
Today i saw the long awaited and hyped movie Gajini. I thought i ll blog about it. Unfortunately i came to know the whole story of Gajini before wathcing the movie from my frend who already saw "Memento". The movie opens with Nayantara a medical student willing to do a project about Surya who is a peculiar case, having short term amnesia for 15 mins. Then it goes on. The highlights of the movie is the flashback scenes involving Surya and Asin, it is well directed by Murugadoss and makes the audience happy. Asin as usual is great. Surya too has the posh look of a millionaire in the movie. he has done well. The worst part of the movie are the songs, some time before Kamal Haasan said in an interview that songs do hinder the flow of screenplay. I realised how true it is in this film. Since the story has been inspired from an english movie the songs does not fit into it. Harris has not given his best too. Nayantaara has put in a lotsa weight. i think soon she ll join the Mumtaj, Namita list of heavy weight actresses :). The climax fight needs a special mention, gud graphics work, surya has worked hard. I dont realise one thing in this movie, why does a short term memory loss patient looks and reflects body language like a psycho?
Overall the movie is gud and definitely watchable one time.
