Luckily gotta chance to watch VV in 2DFS(2nd day first show). Thanks to my friend Sathya who booked the ticket at 5 Am sometime last week. Inspite of a night out at my office on Friday cudnt sleep the next morning as i was excited about watching VV at 11 AM show. Since it has Kamal and gautam i though there wud be something in store for ardent Kamal fans like me. The introduction of kamal begins with a superb thenavettu scene only Rajini cud have given otherwise. Followed by the stylish "Karka Karka" song.
Pullarichiruchu, all of us attained a paravasa nilai. After a while i thought. Oh GOD! Why the hell is Kamal aging. He shudnt. His age is clearly visible in his face, we wanted him to be young always.Compared to his previous movies he looks a bit aged in this one. He is one of the few who gives hope to Tamil fans that gud movies will keep comin. I had a hard feeling about his age.
I dont want to tell about the story here. See it for yourself. But the characters in the movie are well casted. The next major actor in the movie is Prakash Raj, who plays the role of a 40+ cop. As usual done to perfection. The villain Balaji has done well too. May be bcoz he has acted with Kamal, awesome performance from him. Especially the encounters between himself and Kamal were too gud.Another gud thing was that the movie didnt have any separate comedy track. All the jokes were spontaneous and timed well by Kamal.

Coming to the ladies side, Jo cries most of the movie but looks CUTE. but Kamalini Mukherjee who is Kamal's wife in the movie looks CUTER. Whoa what a beauty? every man wud luv to have a wife like her. Especially the vetkam when Kamal proposes to her. She can write a book on "Vetkapaduvadhu Eppadi".The music of the film was also gud. I didnt hear much of it before. But Harris has done a commendable job. The BGM with Saxophone were completely ARR style but was gud. The songs "Paartha Mudhal Naale" and "Velli Nilave" were superb and enjoyable.Eventhough Jo comes most of the time in the movie it is Kamalini who comes to mind most of the time after the movie. The cameraman RaviVarman and other techinicians have done a gud job too. The lightings and colour enhancements were perfect. But i feel that the cinematographer wants to implement all that he has studied and went a bit overboard in some scenes. Fights were awesome and well choreographed by Vikram Dharma. Especially the dialogues between Kamal and the villains add more punch to the movie.
But inspite of all this the movie is not perfect like Kaakha Kaakha, the romance between Jo and Kamal drags a bit, which slowed the overall pace of the movie. Some scenes remind Gautam's previous movie. Jo character is not so gud, i liked Maya more than Aradhana.Dont know why,but Gautam seems to have had a fear that the "Gummanguthu lady kammakara vaadi group"(used to watching wannabe superstars dancing for some dappankuthu music) might ignore the movie. this is clear from that unnecessary item number "Sikki Mukki neruppu" and some stupid romance scenes betwen Jo and Kamal, that didnt impress much of us. He seems to have compromised the quality of the film for some reason, may be business. Otherwise the movie is gud, go to theatre without any expectation to enjoy it.

It has almost been a month i ve blogged. I didnt even read any other blogs. reason being my hectic work and that i didnt get any topic, feelin that i ve cribbed more than enough on reservations, terrorism, bomb blasts etc. i cudnt get a topic. I was affected with BLOG-UN-GUNIYA(my own term for lack of topics to blog about). Finally am out of it and successfully got something to blog about.
I was on a 2 day trip to Paranur, a village near villupuram. This is a place where Sri Krishna Premi Swamigal alias Sri Anna conducts the annual festival for Krishna Jeyanthi with Bhajans and rituals. I was desperate that i have to get out of this city,so i joined my parents. The village was so small that it had a couple of streets and some houses sans electricity. It has a temple built by Sri Anna himself and the street had some veda patashaalas. The experience was different, especially the bhajans were great. Being a great devotee of music, the varying tempo and beats of bhajans mesmerised me. I realised that music has energy the Nth time in my life. There was abishekam, aaradhanai etc. The next day i witnessed a different function in which Sri Anna threw vennai on all of his devotees while dancing. Every oe of the devotees were enthusistic that they didnt mind their digi cams, handy cams, honda cities being drenched with vennai.Learned that it was the Nandhothsavam. It was nice and fun. Some pics of the trip.

Travelled thru' the NH to Villupuram after 2 years, was amazed to see that the road is maintained well and comparable to international standards. Kudos to NHAI.

With this post my blog completes 1 year. Yes i wrote my first post on this blog on August 19, 2005. In the past one year i got many new friends thru' blogs. Learnt a lot. Improved my english a bit. Hope this continues.....
