A Beautiful M(ind)ovie

Wednesday, November 30, 2005
Happened to watch the "A Beautiful Mind" this weekend, could not resist myself from bloggin about it. What a gud movie? Probably one of the best i ve seen so far, the storyline is about how a mathematical genius suffers from schizophrenia(hope the spellin is correct), mental illusion problem. But apart from these scenes what i liked the most was the love story between Russel crowe ( the genius) and the heroine. It was portrayed so well like our love classics. Usually english movies show love as Doggie style ( yaaru venaalum yaaroda venalum polaam) but this movie is different. The best scene that i liked was when Russel asks the heroine for some proof or result that she loves him. Here goes the dialogue:(approximately)
Heroine: How big is the Universe?
Hero: Infinite
Heroine: How do you know that? Do u have any proof?
Hero: No but i beleive in it
Heroine: That is love, you have to believe it.

Even though this has been mentioned long ago in our old tamil literatures and movies it was nice. Rusell Crowe's acting was amazing. I enjoyed the movie very much. If this movie has to be remade in tamil the following wud have been my starcast:
Hero: Kamal
Heroine: Jo
Charles(Hero's room mate): Madhavan
William Parcher (US Military Officer): Nasser
Dr. who treats the Hero: Sivakumar
Hansen: Ramesh Aravind

but if this happens the producer will be in trouble bcoz we ppl need a Kuthu song and punch dialogues in our movies.......

Legend of Ze(or)ro....

Saturday, November 12, 2005
Yesterday we went to the movie "Legend of Zorro". If we call tamil movies as "Masala" and laugh at our heroes , then we should also laugh at this movie. I bet this is worse than our Vijaikanth movie. The hero our Zorro will always be the saviour, like Krishna said in Bagawad Gita "Engellam adharmam thalai thooku kiradho angellam Zorro varuvaar". I think the director has seen a lot of Indian movies he has adapted many such sentiments in his movie. Antonio looks old, has lost his charm. Catherine Jones looks hot as usual, the few positive points in the movie are the boy (son of zorro), those little altercations between Zorro and Elena, worst part is the graphics and the stunts, especially the climax scene was horrible. We left the theatre 10 mins before the climax, thank god atleast the Horse in the movie performed well unlike Humans.

Diwali Crap....

Tuesday, November 01, 2005
Since it is Diwali today all the satellite channels telecasted their own programs as usual. The common formula that has been derived somehow by these is channels is the following:

Diwali = 1 pattimandram + 1 game show + some actress interview + walk the talk style paetti + 1 road show....

Especially there was an overdose of Asin, whenever i tune to the other channel i could see only Asin. Being an ardent fan of Asin enakke bore adikka vachittaanuva. Everything was total mokkai except for ONE. The ONE program that i enjoyed today is the Concert by the MAestro andrum indrum endrum Ilaiyaraja. Iam very happy to see the masetro come out of his Shell after a long time, en baashaila sollanumna OTHA CHANCE AE ILLA(sorry for using chennai tamil).... All the songs are best and each one melts us. The genius SPB in combination with Raja gave a beautiful performance, even though i have listened to all the songs before, inniku kekkum podhu pullarichiduthu :). I thanked God coz he granted me a birth in India, if i had born elsewhere i may not have had a chance to listen to such gud music and followed such a gud culture. God has gifted people like Raja,Rehman,SPB with music and gifted Rest of the World with them.
